Captive Screws are fasteners designed to remain attached to the component they are securing, even when fully loosened, providing convenience, security and ease of use in a variety of applications. This range of Captive Screws has a button head and a Torx drive. Torx drives provide a positive-engaging, fast-locating technique for transmitting drive torque with less necessary downward pressure. They are an excellent fitting option for panels with non-threaded holes when used in conjunction with our threaded captive washers. They are used to comply with Machinery Detective 2006/42/EC - typically to ISO 14583, which requires fasteners to stay attached to fixed guards or applications when they are removed.

The screws are made from Stainless Steel, which is corrosion resistant and slightly magnetic, and you can find a group of screws with a blackened finish and others without.These screws are commonly used in electronics, industrial machinery, cabinets, panels and medical devices. Please keep in mind that because these screws have a smaller shank diameter, they should not be tightened to the suggested torque for an identical screw with the same thread size.
