Based on the CCS811 by AMS, this high quality xChip is an excellent gas sensor module. It's also an ultra-low power digital gas sensor solution. Featuring a metal oxide (MOX) gas sensor designed to detect a host of Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) for indoor air monitoring with a microcontroller unit (MCU), this xCHIP comes with an Analog-to-Digital converter (ADC) and an I2C interface.

Along with speedy cycle times and a major reduction in power consumption, the CCS811 gives a highly reliable solution for gas sensors as it's based on AMSs unique micro-hotplate technology.

The integrated MCU manages the sensor drive modes and raw sensor data measured when detecting VOCs. And the I2C digital interface dramatically streamlines the hardware and software design for a faster time to market.

Where the main origin of VOCs is human, the CCS811 supports intelligent algorithms to process raw sensor measurements to output a TVOC value or equivalent CO2 (eCO2) levels.
